Salina South and Shawnee Mission East Win Swim Titles at Hummer |

Salina South came away with the 5A -1A KSHSAA Boy's State Swimming Championship held February 18th-20th at the Capitol Federal Natatorium. This was the first year that competing classes had been split, giving the smaller schools a chance at a championship. In class 6A, Shawnee Mission East swam away with another state championship. Local teams competed well in the meet. In 5A-1A, Seaman High School placed 10th, while Topeka West placed 24th out of 29 teams. In class 6A, Washburn Rural High School placed 7th, while Topeka High, led by a strong performance by John Powell, placed 13th out of 25 teams that scored in the meet.
